• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service and its underlying dataset, including through aggregated or de-identified usage information;

• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve functionality and content;
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse of the Service;
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: (a) your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; (b) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your data protection rights; and (c) compliance with a legal obligation, where applicable.

4. Marketing Communications

We are not currently sending marketing emails. If we begin doing so, we will only send marketing or promotional emails to addresses collected with your affirmative consent (for example, via a clearly labeled opt-in checkbox at the point of collection). Every marketing email we send will:

• Identify Who Uses This as the sender and include our physical mailing address;
• Include a clear and conspicuous way to opt out or unsubscribe;
• Honor opt-out requests promptly, consistent with the CAN-SPAM Act and other applicable law.

You may withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting us at st@prerefer.com. Withdrawing consent will not affect any transactional or service-related communications necessary to operate the Service.

We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies (such as analytics or marketing cookies) and will provide a mechanism to manage your preferences.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, infrastructure, analytics, database, security, and email-delivery providers, where they process information for purposes related to providing their services to us;

We retain personal information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. The retention period may vary depending on the type of information and why we collected it. For example, recommendation inputs may be retained for a period reasonably necessary to provide and improve the Service; marketing contact information may be retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need it for the relevant purpose; and aggregated or de-identified information may be retained for longer where it can no longer reasonably be used to identify you. When we no longer have an ongoing legitimate need to process personal information, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to applicable law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. If applicable to our processing of your personal information, California law may provide additional rights, including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sale or sharing of personal information. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

9. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will use appropriate transfer mechanisms or other legally recognized safeguards.
